Beauty Review: Storybook Cosmetics Wizardry and Witchcraft Palette!

Hello you gorgeous lot you!

Recently it was my birthday, I am now officially the big 2-5 *gulp*! I actually can’t believe I am 25 already, feels like last week I was turning 18 and going out for the first time in a club! Anyway, for my birthday one of my gorgeous friends got me the Storybook Cosmetics Wizardry and Witchcraft Palette and I about died! I have wanted this palette for so long and so I was thrilled when I opened it! ❤
So, I thought I would do a little review about it so you guys can see my thoughts on it and make a decision for yourselves 🙂 so, let’s dive on in shall we!

~ Packaging ~

Okay, so it can’t be denied, the packaging of this palette is cute as fuck! It is literally a book full of dreamy colours! What more could you want?! The palette comes with a slip sleeve, then you open it up and it has the eyeshadows displayed beautifully as well as having a lovely mirror which makes it P-E-R-F-E-C-T for travelling with! I love palettes that come with a mirror purely for travelling and allowing you to not worry about how you will beat that face if there is no mirror where you’re staying (albeit unlikely)! As this looks like a book it genuinely feels like you’re opening a potions book for class which makes the whole experience all the more magical! However, the one downside, as it is a book shape it is quite chunky and would take up some room in your make-up bag, for me this isn’t an issue as I travel with a crap tone of stuff all the time, however, it is something to take note of if you are wanting to take this away with you for the weekend!

~ Colour range ~

In all honesty, the colour range of this palette is stunning. It has a nice mix of colours in it and you can create so many different looks and use it for both day and night wear, winner! However, there are more shimmer shades than matte shades, so if you’re a shimmer on the lid and always matte in the crease then you may not like it as much. I am a shimmer all over  my face kinda gal so I still adore the colour range and don’t mind the fact there aren’t as many matte shades to use for the crease colours! There is a nice mix between extreme colour and more wearable day-to-day shades which for me sums up what a good palette is! I love versatility in my palettes so this one has a huge thumbs up from me! ❤

~ Pigmentation ~

The pigmentation of this palette is honestly lovely! The colours are pigmented as anything but also blend like a dream, which is exactly what you want! I am pretty amazed by how easily the colours blended alongside how much colour payoff you get from the palette overall! As you will see from the swatches below, each of the colours has good payoff and they’re all pigmented as hell, so for me its another thumbs up!

~ Pricing ~

Although this was a gift, I knew the pricing prior to receiving it as I had been eyeing this beauty up for a long time! I think the pricing is completely justified, the colours all have really good pigmentation, blend well and are easily buildable. The packaging is so unique and lovely which is a huge bonus and it generally looks stunning at all times!

~ Thoughts overall ~

My thoughts of this palette, as you may be able to guess, are glowing! I adore this palette, the colours are all stunning and it is simply adorable to look at! The concept of having an eyeshadow palette looking like a storybook is just so cute and unique you cannot knock it and the product itself works like a dream! I would recommend this palette to everyone and their Mum’s as the colour range, pigmentation, blendability and packaging are to die for! Such a perfect addition to my collection ❤

So there we go guys, that’s my thoughts on this magical little palette! Have any of you tried it? What did you think?

Talk soon,

Laura xo
