Holiday Essentials!

Hello, hello, hello!
I know it has been a little while since I have updated the blog and I am super sorry about that! There has been a lot going on in my personal life so I have been focusing on my family and loved ones for the past few weeks!
But, I am back and I am going to share with you my top holiday essentials of what I take everytime I go abroad! Let’s dive in, pals! ❤
As always, everything I mention wherever possible will be linked for you down below! 🙂

~ Books ~
Books, to me, are more important than food for a holiday! I get bored quiet easily if I am just lying around with nothing to do so books are an essential in my packing process! It depends on how long I go for as to how many I take or if I take my Kindle if its a long haul flight, so, I thought I would share some of my faves so you can get some inspiration for your holiday books picks! 🙂

Billy and Me ~ Giovanna Fletcher
This is such a lovely book. You really lose yourself in Sophie May and Billy Buskin’s love story and can’t help but continue reading for longer than you should before bed 😉 I loved this book, it is a nice easy going story so it is perfect for a holiday book pick!

The Night Circus ~ Erin Morgenstern
This book is probably the most magical (minus Harry Potter) book I have ever read. This book made me fall head over heals in love with reading all over again and I honestly hated putting it down! It is simply stunning, you absolutely lose yourself in the magical nature of the most stunning circus and can even smell the sweet treats that are inviting you into the pages… honestly, this book is just beautiful. If you like magic, love stories, twisting plot-lines and a bit of candyfloss then try this out!

The Girl in Cabin 10 ~ Ruth Ware
This is more of a pick for those who like a bit of a thriller and a book that’ll make you think. I loved this book so much! It really got me thinking, the twisting plot-lines and the increasing paranoia of the main character sucks you in and doesn’t let you go until you’ve finished! I couldn’t recommend this one highly enough!

~ Puzzles ~
As I have said, I am the type to get bored pretty easily on holiday, especially if I am lying around, so puzzles are pretty important!

Crossword Puzzles
I do love a good old crossword, they get me thinking and keep me distracted for a good period of time! I pick up any I can get really, but the one I took recently was by The Times 🙂
I have loved wordsearches since I was a kid so doing these also keeps me nice and occupied for a long period of time!

~ Accessories ~
So, when you’re jetsetting you need to have some accessories to keep you looking fresh and protect you from the sun as well so here are my essential accessories I take with me! 🙂
I always take sunglasses with me, this may sound obvious but some people stroll around without them but my poor sensitive eyes won’t allow that! Sunglasses are essential to me!
I have a pair of RayBan sunglasses that I have had for around 4 years now so I am not sure if they’re still available but I have had them for a long time now so they naturally fine themselves in my bag prior to flying!
When you’re abroad your skin dries out very quickly so make sure you keep it hydrated by keeping moisturiser in your handbag with you!

I use the Soap and Glory Hand Food moisturiser 🙂
Lipbalm is the same as the handcream, my lips dry out so quick so this is essential for me to have on holiday with me! 🙂

I use the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream 🙂

~ Skincare ~
Skincare is pretty essential when you’re on holiday, especially as you’re using suncream everyday and have the potential to get sunburn and thus super dry skin! So, here are my top skincare essentials I take with me 🙂

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Releif
I pop this on in the evenings before I head off to bed and it really helps to inject moisture into your skin after a long day in the sun! It soaks into the skin so easily, doesn’t leave a residue and is simply lovely. Me loves ❤

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel
I used this every morning before we headed out into the sun and before I added my suncream too. It soaks into the skin beautifully and really helps to hydrate and protect your skin from the effects of the weather whilst you’re away on your holibobs 🙂

So there we go guys, here are my fave things to take away with me on holiday from entertainment to skincare! What are your essentials for your holidays? 🙂

Talk soon,

Laura xo
