Heeeey guys! ❤
So, I FINALLY have enough disposable income to justify trying some of the high end brands I have been drooling over for a very long time so I thought I would start of the with ever so talked about and hyped foundation from Nars!
Yes, that’s right folks, I bought the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation so I thought I would let you guys know what I think of it, how it looks and how it wears throughout the day!
~ Colour Match ~
I have been drooling over and been watching SO MANY make-up ‘gurus’ using this foundation all over social media for years so when I finally got to have some of my own I was SO EXCITED!
As this brand is high end it does have a lot of colours to match a lot of skin tones which for me was like the make-up gods had looked down on me and sprinkled magic dust and I actually have a foundation that matches my skin tone! ❤ *dances, sparklers and fireworks everywhere*
Honestly, having a foundation that matches me is a god send so the colour range of this foundation is just a dream come true. They have everything from caspar white (dats me) to the darker skintones so I truly think you would be able to find one that matches you well!
~ Finish ~
Okay… this is where things got a tad confusing for me! Hah!
As this foundation is called ‘sheer glow’ I presumed, as everyone in their right mind would, that it would be a light to medium coverage with a glowy finish, right? Just me who thought this?
In reality, this foundation is extremely high coverage and the finish, on my skin, is matte. I get no glow and it is deffo not sheer…
I like high coverage foundations, and matte foundations don’t bother me, so I was pretty lucky with this. However, why would you name and advertise a foundation as ‘sheer glow’ if it isn’t sheer at all and is deffo NOT glowy?! Thankfully, I like the finish and it sits well on my skin! I can get an oily T-Zone so having a matte foundation helps reduce this which is a benefit, however, if you’re after a sheer glowy foundation maybe don’t go for this one… I mean maybe I missed something and it’s just a confusing name for the product..? Who knows.
~ How it wears ~
Overall this wears just as well as other foundations I have. It doesn’t wear any better or any worse than others I have tried which is a positive!
It does crease after a while, so if you’re wearing this for extended periods of time you may need to touch up throughout the day/night!
It didn’t look cakey throughout the day/nights that I wore it and didn’t require too much maintenance which is benefit as no one enjoys battling with their foundation all the time!
~ Packaging ~
The packaging is really lovely, it has a matte black lid and comes in a glass bottle. The only thing that really frustrates me about it is that you have to buy a separate pump for the bottle.. why? You are paying £32 for the foundation so why cant they add a pump into the packaging?!
Overall, it’s okay, but not having a pump on foundations that you are paying a decent amount for, to me, is silly…
~ Price ~
This is a high end product and so more expensive ingredients are used so it is more expensive than the typical high street foundations you can grab. I would say for the actual product it is worth the money, it wears well and looks nice on the skin, however, the packaging could be improved by adding a pump to it, I mean come on! Haha!
~ Thoughts Overall ~
Overall, I do like this foundation. It sits well on the skin, blends well, has a beautiful colour match and doesn’t crease or melt away during the day which is a benefit. I am still confused by the ‘sheer glow’ naming as I do find it high coverage and pretty matte on my skin and the no pump on the bottle thing is a bit of a let down, but hey, it works and I would be tempted to buy it again in the future 🙂
Have any of you tried this foundation before? What were your thoughts on it? I would love to know in the comments! ❤
