Beauty Review: Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks

I finally caved and purchased two Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks so I thought I would do a review incase any of you are thinking of buying some and are still unsure you can see my thoughts and then make a decision after that!
I can’t lie, I have lusted after these liquid lipsticks for a loooong time! I have seen launch after launch of new colour’s, so, after the launch of Mannequin and Rose Matter I literally could not stop myself from taking the plunge and buying them! I had to, guys. Really, I did 😉
So! Let’s jump right into it and I will take you through everything from the packaging of the product, the shipment of it as Jeffree Star Cosmetics is based in the U.S.A, pigmentation and also pricing so let’s go!

Packaging:

Overall, I can’t really fault the packaging of the product. The tube the lipstick comes in is nice and compact so you can easily travel with it, it has a beautiful hot pink cap with gold stars around it with a clear container so you can see the product inside of the tube.
The applicator on the wand of the lipstick is perfect for applying the product, I was a bit scared at first but the doe foot applicator is perfectly shaped to essentially hug your lip and you can sharpen lines easily with the tip of the wand!
The product came in a hot pink box with the Jeffree Star signature stars and logo on there with the shade name on a sticker so you knew which lipstick was which!
Nothing to complain about here guys, pretty straight forward and basic packaging but, if its not broken why fix it, hey? 🙂

Formula:

When it comes to liquid lipsticks you can sometimes be put off by how long they take to dry, what they feel like on the lips once they have dried down or how they wear throughout the day overall, so, let me take you through what I think of this one!
The drying time of this formula on the lips is actually crazy quick compared to what I thought it would be! However, when I finally got my hands on them I was desperate to swatch them on my hand and I don’t know if I used too much product or what but they too so long to dry down so I was concerned for using it on my face in case of smudge disasters! They do dry down a lot quicker on the lips, as I say, I may be using less product so that could be the main reason!
They feel pretty weightless on the lips, they feel slightly tacky if you really press your lips together but overall feel very comfortable and don’t feel drying on the lips at all which is a bonus!
The longevity of this product is actually pretty insane, I am super shocked at how well it lasts on my lips! It does wear off after a meal or drinking a lot, as you can imagine, but not that much if I’m honest. You may need to touch it up slightly throughout the day/evening but they wear really well and last a super long time! Win ❤

Pigmentation:

As you can see from the photo below these are really beautifully pigmented, a small amount of product goes a long way and the colour in the tube is the colour you get on your lips which is always a winner!
Pigmentation is beautiful, cannot complain at all about it!

Pricing:

The pricing of these products really isn’t that bad to be honest, compared to other liquid lips on the market they are relatively cheap. They aren’t super cheap and, of course, you have to pay for shipping to the UK, so they are a slight investment if you are on a budget but I wouldn’t say they are overpriced or under-priced. I would say they are pretty perfect for the packaging you get and how good the product actually is!

Shipping:

Now, this has nothing to do with the company it is literally just my experience of the shipping process! You have to pay for shipping, as you would expect, so I was completely fine with doing so. However, whatever company they used in the USA was great, the package moved quickly from one depot to another and I was pretty chuffed! However, the company it was passed onto in the UK seemed to take forever delivering the package from London to Sheffield.
Eventually I got a note saying I had to pay custom charges on my package, which as I found out, happens to randomly selected packages arriving internationally, so I went online, paid an extra £16 and so I could get my package redelivered…
This whole process took nearly three weeks, so it was frustrating as once you have paid for a package you want it so you can use it as soon as possible, however, as I had to pay custom charges and everything over this side of the Atlantic was talking so long to move around it did take a long while to receive my products!
However, I’m not saying this would put me off ordering again, it really wouldn’t! I am simply letting you guys know that it could take a long while for you to receive your products after you have purchased them so be prepared for a long wait! 🙂

So there you have it, my review on the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks! I am impressed by these lipsticks and will be buying more shades soon enough as well as some of his Skin Frost Highlighters and maybe even his Beauty Killer Eyeshadow Palette
If any of you guys have any of Jeffree Star’s products then let me know what you think of them down in the comments and I will see you all soon! 🙂

Talk soon,

Laura xo
