First Impression: BirchBox Beauty Subscription!

As you may already have noticed, beauty subscription boxes are hugely popular right now, so I clearly had to jump on the subscription bandwagon and see what all of this hype was about! After discussions with my friends about a range of beauty subscriptions, the one that kept cropping up as a good choice and good value for money was the BirchBox subscription.
For this box you simply go to the website and sign up, it then takes you through a range of questions about you from what skin type you are, what skin tone you are and what products you would most like to receive in your box every month. It is super easy, super quick and pain-free which is always something I look for when signing up to a new website, if the website wants to know everything about me from my birthday to what I ate last night then I get bored and quickly shut the site down before finishing the sign up process! So this one was a winner in my eyes 🙂

The box itself costs you £10 per month with a £2.95 post and packing fee attached. There is also a no nonsense feeling for cancellations too. If you click onto your account and decide to cancel your subscription then you simply do not pay or receive any more boxes. Win win in my eyes. The products you receive as well as the size of the samples I feel this is very good value for money.

I have received the May and June Birchbox and I will show you some photos and go through my thoughts and feelings on what I received in this post so you can decide for yourself if you would like to sign up and try something new!

Packaging:
The packaging of this subscription is super cute and relevant to the products you’re receiving as well as being nice and eye catching! You can even keep these boxes to store things in to organise your drawers so you don’t have cotton buds, eyeliners and tweezers running amok and messing up your organisation skills!
When the box arrived it was in a bright pink cardboard covering and when you open it up your beautiful little subscription box is there waiting for you! I cannot fault the packaging on this subscription, the design is beautiful, fits the products in perfectly as well as being compact and an easy shape to store away if you would like to! 🙂

Pricing:
I would say for the products you receive in this box it is definitely worth the money you pay as you get a mixture of products from haircare to beauty, the sizes are bigger than the average sample size as well as getting some full size products in your box! £12.95 per month to try a range of products out before committing to a full size product and splashing out your money on a product you’re unsure of!
As you can see from the picture below, you get five products in your box and for £12.95 I would say that this is excellent value for money to try a wide variety of products out on a month to month basis!

Products Received:
Obviously, the products you receive vary month to month, however, they do have a theme running through them for each subscription box. You also get a handy booklet explaining to you what each product is, what it does, what ingredients it contains and how to use it which is also extremely useful if you receive something you have never come across before!
I will list the products I received in both the May and June BirchBox below so you can see the variety as well as some close up photos so you can see how the box arrives and what you get for your money more clearly! 🙂

Product Matches:
I would say the products I received after the selections I made when signing up to the subscription box were pretty spot on. I received make-up, skincare and haircare products that are all useful for my skin-type and hair quality which is perfect as it means all of the products I have I can get some good use out of and maybe even repurchase if I end up loving them!

Thoughts Overall:
Overall, I am pretty impressed with this subscription. I am going to give it a couple of months before I decide for certain but so far I really cannot fault it. The boxes arrive quickly, the products are all a decent size and the packaging and pricing of the subscription is just perfect for someone who is on a budget but is still wanting to try some new products out to see what they like and what they don’t.

So there you have it, guys, my review on the BirchBox monthly subscription along with pictures of what I have received so far! If I end up loving any of the products and you would like any reviews then do let me know and I can pop those on here for you!
Are you subscribed to any monthly subscriptions? If so, what did you go for, and why?! I would love to try more like this, even if they aren’t beauty related! Having something to look forward to every month is pretty exciting if I’m honest, it’s like a little gift you receive and can open up and be all happy and giddy, just like a child on Christmas morning! Ha! ❤

If you end up subscribing let me know what you think about it!

Talk soon,

Laura xo
